Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's first female artist for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label released her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to gain recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's reference. Later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. The news was released on December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
